Overview and Purpose of the Town Center District Plan: 

The City of University Place is developing and implementation plan for the Town Center District (see map below). The District Plan will establish a unified vision for the future of the Town Center District, along with goals, policies, and identified actions and projects needed to implement the plan.  

In addition to the vision, goals, policies, and actions, the District Plan will include background and history of the District, an inventory of capital facilities and services to support growth, a market analysis, population and employment forecasts. The District Plan also will address the items in PSRC’s VISION 2050 Consistency Tool for Regional Growth Center Plans.

The District Plan will be developed to align with the City’s Form Based Code for the Regional Growth Center. 


Planning Process and Timeline:

The planning process will extend through Summer and Fall 2025. Key stages include the following:

The Draft Plan is currently scheduled to go to the Planning Commission for a study session on November 5, 2025. Keep watch for future Planning Commission meetings in the Agenda Center.

Planning Area:

The map below shows the planning area boundary for the Town Center District, which runs along Bridgeport Way West from 29th Street West to 51st Street West.
