It’s never too early to begin to educate youth on the dangers of stormwater pollution.
The non-profit organization Puget Sound Starts Here has robust kits for elementary- and high school-age students designed to help them understand the ways our lakes, rivers and streams can become polluted and what they can do to prevent stormwater pollution.
Through interactive exercises such as elementary-age “Drain Rangers” visiting Stormville or secondary students assuming the role of stormwater engineers, these kits are an excellent way to incorporate the topic into environmental science lessons.
