Public Safety Listening Session #3

Thursday, July 14, 2022

Recent polling by the City of University Place indicates a strong desire among U.P. residents to address public safety and crime prevention strategies that create a stronger and safer community. This corresponds with the City Council making “increased public safety” its number one goal for this biennium.

This third in a series of community forums, the City of University Place is hosting this listening session to answer questions and gather feedback on this important topic.

This event will be held in person in the City Hall Council Chambers as well as online and will give City staff an opportunity to share important public safety information and updates, while also providing a forum to listen to concerns and feedback from residents, businesses and community stakeholders.

This is your opportunity to join the conversation and be an informed citizen. Please make plans to attend one—or all—of these important listening sessions.

Members of the community can attend the event in person at the U.P. Council Chambers (3609 Market Place West, Third Floor) or watch it live on U.P.’s YouTube channel and on the City’s cable channel UPTV (RainierConnect channel 12 or Comcast channel 21). The session will be available for viewing afterward at any time on the City’s YouTube channel and will replay City’s cable channel on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 2 p.m. and on Sundays at 4 p.m.

Those who will participate virtually must submit questions in advance to There will be no means of asking questions in real time for those streaming the event.
