It Takes a Team to Keep Drains Clean

Leaves in Storm Drain

With fall upon us, leaves and needles are dropping and the rain is returning. That means it is important to keep the catch basins near your property clear of leaves, needles and storm debris to prevent large puddles and ponding on U.P. streets.

Although the City’s sweeper trucks are out in full force doing their part to keep the streets clean of debris, they can’t cover every street, every day. So they ask residents to team up with them to ensure that U.P.’s stormwater system operates efficiently and is able to transfer stormwater to ponds, streams and Puget Sound.

Please do your part to help City staff keep our roads stay clean, safe and well maintained.
