Highlighted Incidents

Incident: Motor Vehicle Collision – Location: 10600 Chambers Creek Rd W

One vehicle left the roadway and ended up in several feet of water. Neither occupant of the vehicle was injured. Pierce County’s Dive Team responded to assist with removing the vehicle due to the location of the incident as well as the hazardous fluids from the vehicle. Charges have been referred to the prosecutor for reckless driving and reckless endangerment. 

Incident: Shoplift and Felony Warrant Arrest – Location: 3800 Bridgeport Way W

Officers responded to a shoplift at Safeway. Officers located the suspect outside the store and recognized him due to his extensive criminal history. The suspect had multiple warrants relating to burglary and trafficking stolen property. The officers pursued the suspect on foot and were able to take him into custody without injury to the suspect or themselves.  

Incident: Aggravated Assault – Location: 2600 Cascade Pl W

Officers responded to an aggravated assault. The victim was assaulted/strangled by her roommate. The suspect remained on scene and was arrested by responding officers. He was later transported and booked into the Pierce County Jail.

Incident: Multiple DUI’s – Location: Various locations within University Place

Officers arrested six individuals for DUI during the two-week reporting period.
