UPDATE FEB 13: U.P. Refuse Garbage Collection Plan

UPDATE FEB 13: University Place Refuse drivers are focusing on Wednesday's routes first, then returning to Monday and Tuesday's trouble spots later in the day as conditions allow. Customers should continue to set out their garbage on its regular schedule and leave it out until it has been picked up.

UPDATE FEB 12: University Place Refuse is back in service and will be collecting as much of Tuesday’s routes as they can safely maneuver, as well as beginning to catch up on Monday’s routes. Please set out your garbage on its regular schedule and leave it out until it has been picked up.

UPDATE FEB 11: University Place Refuse has cancelled collection for today, February 11. They ask that all customers leave their carts at the curb until they are emptied and they will work on catching up throughout the week.

ORIGINAL POST: Very early on Monday morning, University Place Refuse staff will drive city streets to assess the current situation and determine whether they will begin operations or cancel for the day.

  • If they determine it is safe to proceed, they will operate on only those streets that their drivers deem safe.
  • If the situation on Monday morning looks very bleak, they will cancel all operations for the day and reassess on Tuesday morning.

U.P. Refuse asks customers to have their carts out on their pickup days. If they are not emptied on the regular pickup day, please leave them out at the curb until they are picked up.
