National Night Out - August 1, 2017

It is getting to be that time of year again – time for University Place citizens to turn on outside lights, lock your doors and step outside to join neighbors in the fight against crime. National Night Out is always the first Tuesday of August and it will take place this year on Tuesday, August 1.

National Night Out is designed to: Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

University Place Police will be caravanning all around the City in police vehicles visiting all U.P. neighborhoods that register by Friday, July 28.

Unable to organize an event? Come to our first annual the National Night Out pre-event kick-off on Tuesday, August 1 from 4–6 p.m. in Market Square. Mingle with U.P.’s finest before they embark on the citywide caravan featuring appearances from the Undersheriff, SWAT team, the Traffic Unit, the Warrant Division and West Pierce Fire & Rescue Fire Engine.

To register your neighborhood or for more information contact Jennifer Hales, Public Safety Administrator, 253.798.3141.
