Parks Appreciation Day
In honor of Earth Day, Arbor Day and National Parks Week, the City of University Place will hold its annual Parks Appreciation Day on Saturday, April 22 from 9 a.m. to noon. This marks the 16th year that U.P. residents have brought their shovels, rakes, gloves and pruners to a U.P. park to clean and beautify the public space in anticipation of the warm months ahead. This year’s event will take place at Paradise Pond Park, 3124 67th Avenue West.
Individuals, families, businesses and neighborhood and community groups are encouraged to participate. Dress warm and bring your own tools (be sure to label them with your name and phone number). Over the course of three hours be prepared to plants flowers, trees and shrubs, as well as remove debris, spread gravel and mulch.
