Demolition of Windmill Village - Request for Proposals

Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the City Clerk at the City Hall, University Place, Washington, until 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 14th, 2019 for the Demolition of Windmill Village Buildings at 3715 Bridgeport Way West, and will shortly thereafter be opened and publicly read aloud.  Bid proposals will be received only at the office of the City Clerk in the University Place City Hall, 3609 Market Place West, Suite 200, University Place, Washington 98466.  Proposals received after the time fixed for opening bids will not be considered.

The work to be performed under this contract includes furnishing the necessary labor, materials, equipment, tools and guarantees thereof to:  Demolition of four buildings, including concrete foundations, concrete slabs, courtyards, removing and waste hauling all concrete and building debris, restoration of disturbed areas with placement of crushed surfacing and other related work items, all in accordance with the Contract Documents.

Pre-Bid Inspection 

There will be two pre-bid mandatory walkthroughs opportunities. 1). November 4, 2019 @ 9:00 a.m and/or 2) November 7, 2019 @ 1:00 p.m.

All bidders are required to attend at least one of the two pre-bid inspections.

All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit by certified check, cashier’s check, or surety bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount of such bid proposal.  Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory performance bond within the time stated in the Specifications, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to the City of University Place.

The City of University Place expressly reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive minor irregularities or informalities and to further make award of the Project to the lowest responsive responsible bidder as it best serves the interest of the City.

No bidder may withdraw his proposal after the hours set for the opening thereof, or before award of contract, unless said award is delayed for a period exceeding sixty (60) days.
