Concert in the Park - Jazz with the David Deacon-Joyner Trio

Join us for great music, food and fun during the 2018 Curran Apple Orchard Summer Concert Series!
 
All concerts are FREE and take place on the specific Thursdays. Bring blankets, picnics or enjoy food from Hometown Hotdogs! (Note: No alcohol allowed in City Parks).

This evening's event features: David Deacon-Joyner is a pianist, composer, arranger, lecturer, and educator, and owner of DDJ Music Services. He has over 30years experience as professor of jazz studies at the University of North Texas and Pacific Lutheran University. He has performed all over the world and has composed and/or arranged music for symphony orchestras and jazz big bands throughout the United States, including collaborations with saxophonist Jeff Coffin (Dave Matthews Band) and Caleb Chapman (president of the Jazz Education Network). Locally, David performs regularly with former Tonight Show saxophonist Pete Christlieb, award-winning vocalist LaVon Hardison, and the Tacoma-based Grit City Jazz Octet.

All concerts occur on Thursday nights at the Curran Apple Orchard, 3920 Grandview Dr. W. from 6:30 to 8 p.m. In case of inclement weather, concerts will relocate to the Curtis High School Cafeteria, 8425 40th St. West in University Place.
