University Place Parks & Recreation has been moving in a new direction. The department has entered its third year of being highly supported by the community with partnerships, sponsorships and fundraising opportunities through the University Place Community Supported Parks & Recreation. U.P. Parks & Recreation will continue the great programs & opportunities as years past.
 








It's here! The Spring/Summer 2012 Recreation Program Guide is here! Be sure to check out the information on all your favorite programs and new programs too! Check out what's new to the City of University Place's programs and see what is coming up for you, your kids, grandkids and friends! 

Youth Volleyball Clinic is coming back for a second year!! With the success of last year's clinic we are excited to offer it again! No matter the skill level, whether your child is just interested in learning more and hasn't played before or even your club level players! This is the clinic for them! For ages 9-13 years this clinic will be on Thursdays from 6 - 8 p.m. from May 17-June 7. Contact the Recreation Office today to register!!

Youth baseball/softball league has begun! Practices are well underway and games will begin May 5th!!  Pictures will be taken on Saturday, May 5th in the Windmill Village Complex of City Hall to view your child's team photo time click here. Game schedules are up on www.teamsideline.com/up. If you are playing in a 3rd grade and older team coaches and parents are encouraged to sign up for the rainout link on the Team Sideline website. By signing up you will receive both emails and texts from the Recreation Department if games are RAINED OUT. Just a reminder: only games will be rained out, practice rainouts are determined by each individual coach, but please be sure to respect the "stay off infield" signs if they are posted.

Sponsorship & donor recognition
Become a youth baseball team sponsor!  Help support a youth baseball team by becoming a donor.  This league is our largest sports league, serving nearly 1000 youth in and around our community with nearly 90 teams! We need your help! Your company name will be placed on the back of the uniforms, recognition in the online Recreation Program Guide and other printed materials.  $195 for one team, $700 for four teams, or $1000 for six teams.  Call us for more information at  253.460.2530.

Steamers Seafood Cafe supports U.P. Parks & Recreation youth basketball!
U.P. Parks & Recreation has joined with Steamers with a new fundraising opportunity for our department. The 5 for $5 card is available now in our office! This is a great savings that fits perfectly in your wallet. With the card you pay $5, all proceeds going to Parks & Recreation. The card will give you $5 off a $20 or more purchase for five visits! Check out Steamers' website to see their great seafood menu options. Our local Steamers is excited to support their community, they want to give back and help provide for the youth recreation athletes in and around the City of University Place. In turn we want to support them and thank them for their constant participation!

Lystedt Law Concussion Waiver must be signed prior to any youth sport league participation and returned to the Parks & Recreation Office.
