It's here! The Fall 2014 Recreation Program Guide! Check out what we have in store for you and your family! You will find information on all your favorite programs and new programs too! Check out what's new to the City of University Place's programs and see what is coming up for you, your kids, grandkids and friends!  

Youth Cultural Arts Classes, new, returning and continuing! Check it out!
We continue to offer our Youth dance classes; Creative Movement for ages 3-5, Ballet for ages 5-8 and Hip Hop for ages 7-12. All of our dance classes meet on Thursdays and will run in six week sessions. Fall I dance will begin on September 11. We are also excited to bring back our Youth Guitar Lessons! We will have classes for beginning students as well as continuing students. Classes are for ages 7-11 years and will meet on Tuesday nights for eight weeks, Fall I guitar begins on October 7. NEW to the Recreation programs are Piano Lessons, classes are set to begin early Fall, look for information to come home from the U.P. Schools as well as information on the U.P. Parks and Recreation Facebook and updated information here on the website. Bootcamp continues, new classes and sessions are now available!
Class locations will be determined prior to each class, students will be notified by instructor via text or email. Current cell phone number and email will need to be provided to Recreation Office at the time of Registration. Be sure to sign up for this popular program. All athletic ability, age and fitness levels are welcome. Take the class at your own pace and surround yourself with others looking for a great way to get healthy.  Each session will run for six weeks, giving you 18 classes!

Youth Indoor Soccer and Flag Football Leagues!
Indoor Soccer
leagues available for boys and girls pre-k through 4th grade. This is an instructional, fun and less muddy soccer league great for introducing the youth to the ever-popular game of soccer. Flag Football has three leagues available, 1st/2nd, 3rd/4th and 5th/6th grades. This is a great way to introduce your child to the sport of football in a fun recreational league. This is a non-tackle league with emphasis on teamwork, participation and sportsmanship. Players in both leagues will be notified of team placement in early September. Season begins beginning of October and runs through November.  Players will be notified of their team placement by mid-September with practices and games beginning in early October. Youth Indoor Soccer & Flag Football coaches needed!
We are looking for volunteer coaches for our upcoming youth outdoor soccer season. Applications will be due to our office with a photo copy of your ID by September 12.  If you have questions or would like more information please email Brittany Bibby. For a downloadable coaches packet click here.

Sponsorship & donor recognition
Become a youth indoor soccer or flag football team sponsor!  Help support a fall youth sports team by becoming a donor.  These leagues serve nearly 500 youth in and around our community! We need your help! Your company name will be placed on the back of the uniforms, recognition in the online Recreation Online Program Guide and other printed materials.  $195 for one team, $700 for four teams, or $1,000 for six teams.  Call us for more information at  253.460.2530.

Lystedt Law Concussion Waiver must be signed prior to any youth sport league participation and returned to the Parks & Recreation Office.
